If astrology is to grow and evolve into an advanced and effective art of behavioral analysis and prognostication, then the best software must be accessible at the lowest price. (V1.X series is freeware.) While some of the more flashy programs try to fit in everything but the kitchen sink, Astroscan offers realistic and effective factors. Accurate calculations are not compromised, though not overdone. Some programs can calculate charts to the second of a minute. But how useful is this when most hospital births are rounded off to the quarter of an a hour, let alone problems with DST. Astroscan is easy to use, yet extremely versatile and powerful. No other shareware program has so many conventional analysis techniques as well as effective new ones. Astroscan has the smoothest and smartest controls of any astrological program. A unique, miniature 5-button menu allows more space to be allocated to chart data lists on the screen, yet performs all the essential duties for diverse analysis that a full menu does. And for the most demanding user there are many Hot Keys which deliver results with lightening speed. Astroscan has the most efficient system of chart file retrieval and management. Astroscan includes an auto-atlas. Typing only the first 1 to 3 letters of the city automatically in- serts all of the birthplace data. Astroscan includes numerous charts of celebrities. Features include Aspect Sorts by Orb or Planet, Aspect Types such as Hard, Soft, Esoteric, etc., Single-Planet-Perspectives by Orb, Aspect or Type. There are popular house systems and special ones: Placidus, Koch, Equal, 4 Angles, Topocentric, Regiomantanus, Campanus, Porphyry, Octangular, and composities of houses. ASTROSCAN 1.5 STILL IN BETA STAGE This is the latest beta version of Astroscan. As with all first releases of software, some parts of the program may not function as intended nor meet the expectations of all users. Such releases are always regarded by the authors and users as beta programs (trial testing versions). With updates and user feedback, program bugs are eliminated, and changes are made to improve performance. Much remains to be improved in the current version of Astroscan. Besides technical improvements, more astrological tools will be added in future updates.
